Ricky, Chris & Tom are joining numerous other industry colleagues to canoe the River Wye for their friend and Huntingdon’s Disease sufferer, Dominic Subbiani.
Team Dawsons are canoeing 31 miles down the River Wye from Hoarwithy to Monmouth, stopping in Ross-on-Wye in the evening for a fundraising festival!
There are over 100 property professionals joining us in the challenge, so far, and it is turning out to be one of the biggest charity events the industry has ever seen.
By day we will be taking to our canoes and covering 31 miles of river and rapids, by night we will continue to raise money with a charity auction and games to help raise more funds.
The event is on the 4th and 5th September and both starts, and ends, in Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire.
Huntingdon’s Disease
Is a progressive brain disorder that causes uncontrolled movements, emotional problems, and loss of thinking ability. It is essentially a fatal disease which currently has no cure.
About Dom
Dom is loved by many in the industry, due to his easy-going nature, his kind and thoughtful approach and fantastic sense of humour. He has has been in the property industry for many years and runs a successful estate agents and holiday lets business, called FBM in Haverfordwest. The agency is also part of the Fine & Country network, alongside Dawsons, so we all know Dom very well and are delighted to take part in this amazing event.

We are jumping 12,000 feet out of a small plane for Ty Olwen Trust because we support this amazing local Morriston charity.
6 members of the Dawsons team will be taking to the sky in a small aircraft on Sunday 4th August and jumping 12,000 feet, in the hope that they land safely and look a little like the Wales Airshow skydiver on the video!

Music in The Quadrant, Swansea
On 25th July one of our sales negotiators Laura-Jane took to the microphone in The Quadrant shopping centre and sang requests for donations.
The team spent the morning entertaining the shoppers on one of the hottest days of the year and managed to raise £443.19 from cash donations and are still collecting online for a prize donated by Boots at The Quadrant.
The Ty Olwen Trust
The Trust set out to relieve patients of the Ty Olwen Palliative Care Service, who are suffering from cancer and life-limiting diseases by the provision of amenities, equipment, services and facilities not normally provided by the National Health Service. As well as this they also provide support to family members and dependents, along with promoting and supporting the research into the causes and treatment of cancer and life-limiting diseases.
Dawsons Property will be donating all proceeds of the skydive to the hospice, in order to aid the funding needed to continue the fantastic work they are doing on a daily basis. We thank you in advance for your support and donations.
We sponsored the race shirts for the runners from the Paul Popham Running Club in 2019 Swansea half marathon and not only helped Underhill Park, Mumbles Community Council to get their Aviva grant in order to update their playground, we also got our very own picnic bench in the playground too!

10,000 items of food campaign
Last month all of the Dawsons offices became collection points for a special estate agency incentive across the UK, headed by our agency charity Agents Giving and the national Relocation Agent Network. The goal was to collect 10,000 items of food across the UK. The target was reached with the final total being 10,600 items with Dawsons collecting a HUGE 2,661 items! Over a quarter of all items raised came from us.
This annual event is incredibly important because Foodbanks across the UK are being used more than ever before. During the week, at Dawson’s, we collected for Trussell Trust foodbanks in Swansea and Llanelli.

On the weekend of the 6th & 7th July the Dawsons Property team of volunteers headed down to Swansea Bay to work at the Wales Airshow for the 2nd year running.
“Tag your Tots” was the theme, and positioned at the entrance, the staff were on hand to get all of the children wristbands with their parent’s emergency contact details secured on their arms, so that, heaven forbid, they wandered off during the excitement – especially with all eye raised up to the sky for the aerobatic entertainment – their parents or guardians could easily be contacted and traced.
On top of this, there was lots of face painting, aeroplane stencils and glitter at the ready, plus selfie frames for photos and lots of advice about the events happening over the 2 days.
As the sun beamed down on Swansea’s beautiful sandy beach, this weekend absolutely covered with spectators, the aviation fans young and old were wowed with the spectacular sights in front of their eyes along the coast. The Red Arrows performed on both days, with live commentary from Red 10 and from Red 1 in the cockpit as they performed death-defying acrobatics at 700 mph.
On Saturday evening there was an extra treat as long into the evening with the airshow’s first ever ‘After Dark’ event with highlights coming from The Fireflies Aerobatic Display Team, hot air balloons and an impressive fireworks display.
On Sunday there was a spectacular acrobatic display from the Wing Walkers which saw many a spectator with an open-mouthed ‘wow’ going on!
