The Dawsons professional Department is one of the most active in Swansea, providing Commercial and Residential Valuations (including homebuyers), Rent Reviews, Lease Renewals and Rating Appeals. The client base is varied, from national banks and pension funds with regard to valuation work, to tenants of small Commercial units with regard to Rent Reviews. Dawsons are also a member of Allied Surveyors, a nationwide practice, therefore providing comfort to clients.
Our knowledge of Commercial property is extensive, with all manner of instructions involving retail, offices, industrial, pubs, hotels and related properties (such as care homes, doctors surgeries etc). We can provide advice on investment or vacant property and with regard to Commercial Valuations; we cover all of South Wales.

Michael J Dawson FRICS

Senior Partner and co founder, born and bred in Swansea and a former partner in the leading independent local firm of Henry Jones & Hobbs. When Abbey National plc acquired that business Michael served 3 years as Commercial Director for Wales and West before leaving to found Dawsons in 1991.
Responsibilities within Dawsons include the general management of all commercial and professional business avenues. |

Richard John BSc (Hons) MRICS

Swansea born and resident Richard began his postgraduate training as a chartered surveyor with Dawsons in 1995.
Since qualifying has managed the South Wales Commercial Valuation Office for Countrywide Surveyors until their takeover by the Bradford & Bingley Group, where he became Senior Commercial Surveyor for the South Wales Region before reverting to residential survey and valuation work full time in January 2004. Richard rejoined Dawsons in July 2005. |

The most recent addition to the Partnership, James joined the Company in January 2005 after being qualified as a Chartered Surveyor for three years.
His main involvement apart from commercial surveying is the management of commercial properties as well as advising clients on investment purchases. |

Recently qualified, Matthew currently heads the Commercial Department and also works closely with James Dawson in advising and managing clients portfolios and investments.
Matthew was elected to Membership with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in May 2010. |
