Dawsons Takes on The Great British Property Cycle 2026

Every mile could help save a life

This October, Team Dawsons are getting on their bikes.

We are proud to be taking part in The Great British Property Cycle 2026, a nationwide fundraising challenge organised by Agents Giving in support of two incredibly important causes: the British Heart Foundation and Heartbeat Trust UK.

And for us, this campaign means something particularly special, because this isn't simply about getting on a bike and clocking up some miles.

It's about helping to create communities where, when the worst happens, people have the equipment, knowledge and confidence to do something about it.

Why Dawsons?

In 2024, Dawsons began working with Heartbeat Trust UK to both sponsor and raise awareness locally of the importance of publicly accessible defibrillators and life-saving equipment in the form of the critical bleed control kits, combined forming a multi trauma box.

In 2025 our teams across our branches took part in practical training covering defibrillators and critical bleed kits, giving our people the opportunity to learn what to do in an emergency and, importantly, to understand where life-saving equipment is located within the communities we serve.  On October 16th 2025 which is in fact Re Start a Heart Day we also took to the Quadrant Shopping Centre, Swansea to again help raise awareness with the public.

That experience really brought home to us that having a multi trauma kit nearby is only part of the solution.

People need to know where it is.

They need to know how to access it.

And they need the confidence to use it when every second counts.

That's why we are so passionate about getting behind this year's Great British Property Cycle.

From Swansea to communities across the UK

Our journey started in Swansea, a city with a particularly strong connection to the defibrillator movement, and we are now excited to be part of something that can reach far beyond our own branches and our own communities.

The Great British Property Cycle brings together estate agents, letting agents, suppliers and property professionals from across the country throughout October.

The aim is simple: get people moving, raise money and raise awareness.

But there is a bigger ambition behind the campaign too.

Funds raised will support the British Heart Foundation and Heartbeat Trust UK, helping to support heart research and the provision of publicly accessible defibrillators, while also increasing awareness of CPR and cardiac emergencies.

And that's where we see a fantastic opportunity for the property industry to make a lasting difference.

Turning miles into something that lasts

At Dawsons, we would love our fundraising to contribute towards putting more defibrillators where they are needed most.

Imagine an estate agency taking part in the challenge and, as a result, helping fund a defibrillator within its own community.

A device that could potentially be used by a colleague...A customer...A neighbour...A passer-by...A member of the public who simply happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

That is the legacy we want to help create.

Heartbeat Trust UK also manages Defib Finder UK, a national platform helping people locate registered defibrillators. Connecting the fundraising campaign with the installation and registration of equipment means we can help create something tangible that remains in our communities long after October is over.

Restart a Heart Day - come and ride with us!

And we don't want this to be something that only Team Dawsons gets involved with.

On Friday 16th October 2026, Restart a Heart Day, we are taking the challenge into our branches and inviting our customers, communities, friends, families and fellow businesses to join us.

We will have two static bikes at each location, and our aim is simple:

Cycle as many miles as we possibly can.
Raise as much awareness as we possibly can.
And raise as much money as we possibly can.

2026 heartbeat blog oct banner come join us

We will be welcoming people throughout the day at three Dawsons branches:

9 - 11am at Dawsons Llanelli (11 Murray Street, Llanelli, SA15 1AQ)

12 - 2pm at Dawsons Mumbles (77 Newton Road, Mumbles, Swansea, SA3 4BN)

3 - 5pm at Dawsons Marina (Unit A, Meridian Bay, Trawler Road, Swansea Marina, SA1 1PG)

Come along, jump on a bike and help Team Dawsons add a few more miles to the total.

You don't need to be a cyclist.

You don't need to train.

And you certainly don't need to be able to cycle for two hours!

Just come along, have a go, help us raise awareness, take a selfie, share on your social and, if you can, make a donation.

And who knows who you might meet cycling alongside you on the day...

It could be a colleague, a customer, a local business owner, a community champion... Or perhaps someone you've never met before who simply wants to help make a difference.

That's exactly what we want this campaign to be about, bringing people together.

Why every mile matters

The brilliant thing about The Great British Property Cycle is that there isn't one way to take part.

You don't have to be a professional cyclist. You don't have to cycle hundreds of miles. You can ride outdoors, use a static bike, cycle with colleagues, organise a team challenge or simply set yourself a personal target.

The national campaign is bringing people from across the property industry together throughout October, and Dawsons wants to play its part.

Because whether you're cycling 10 miles or 100, every mile really could help save a life.

Will you get behind Team Dawsons?

We are asking our colleagues, customers, friends, families, suppliers and communities to get behind us this October.

You can support the campaign by donating through our Dawsons fundraising page (see below), joining us for a ride on Restart a Heart Day, sharing our challenge or simply helping us spread the word about the importance of knowing where your nearest defibrillator is.

Every donation will help us move closer to our goal and, collectively, help the property industry create a lasting legacy of life-saving equipment and awareness across the UK.

And if you can't make it to one of our branches on 16th October, you can still be part of the challenge by donating and sharing our campaign.

This October, we are not just cycling for miles.
We are cycling for hearts.
We are cycling for our communities.
And we are cycling because every mile really could help save a life.
