The Dawsons professional Department is one of the most active in Swansea, providing Commercial and Residential Valuations (including homebuyers), Rent Reviews, Lease Renewals and Rating Appeals. The client base is varied, from national banks and pension funds with regard to valuation work, to tenants of small Commercial units with regard to Rent Reviews. Dawsons are also a member of Allied Surveyors, a nationwide practice, therefore providing comfort to clients.

Our knowledge of Commercial property is extensive, with all manner of instructions involving retail, offices, industrial, pubs, hotels and related properties (such as care homes, doctors surgeries etc). We can provide advice on investment or vacant property and with regard to Commercial Valuations; we cover all of South Wales.


 Michael Dawson FRICS
Michael is a Senior Partner carrying out mainly Commercial and high level Residential Valuations for both the private and the institutional sector. General practice work includes management, rating compensation, arbitration and expert witness services. Michael has the benefit of over 35 years extensive experience in the area and has been a fellow of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors for some years. In addition he is an accredited arbitration appointee by the RICS and a specialist in litigious property matters.


  Richard John BSc (Hons) MRICS
Swansea born and resident Richard began his postgraduate training as a chartered surveyor with Dawsons in 1995. Since qualifying has managed the South Wales Commercial Valuation Office for Countrywide Surveyors until their takeover by the Bradford & Bingley Group, where he became Senior Commercial Surveyor for the South Wales Region before reverting to residential survey and valuation work full time in January 2004. Richard rejoined Dawsons in July 2005.


  James Dawson. BSc (Hons) MRICS
James began his training at the university of Glamorgan in Pontypridd, from which he gained employment in 1999 in Donaldsons Surveyors and Property Consultants based in their head office in London. As of 2001, James joined International Property Consultants DTZ Debenham Tie Leung, based in their Cardiff office.

At DTZ, James was based in their Commercial Valuation Department, undertaking work for Banks and Building Societies, Pension Funds and large portfolios. James qualified as a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in May 2002 whilst at DTZ. In January 2005, James joined Dawsons and continues to work in the professional market, dealing in commercial property with instructions that include valuation, rent reviews, lease renewals and development.
