Dawsons delighted at winning charity challenge

Dawsons Property has emerged champions of a south Wales money-making challenge – Clash of the Corporates – run by homeless charity The Wallich.

The south west Wales estate agency came out on top as one of 20 businesses across Wales competed to see who ccould turn a £50 loan from The Wallich into the most charity money raised in 50 days.

In the end Dawsons beat Welsh choir, Only Men Aloud into second place, by raising an impressive £3,262.98 thanks to a charity auction, a cake sale and a special fancy dress Halloween day. Dawsons contribution was a big chunk of the £13,000 raised by the 20 companies.

“We are so delighted to have won – we never dreamt that we would. But in the end it’s not really about who came first, second or third it’s about congratulating everyone involved for raising money for such a worthy cause,” said Dawsons Director of Sales, Joanne Summerfield-Talbot.

Dawsons hit the ground running with a programme of money-raising events that included a cake sale, a curry night, an auction and Halloween fundraising activities.

“It’s a big thank you to anyone who has contributed to our fundraising whether it was buying cakes or bidding in the charity auction.

“I think everyone at Dawsons has enjoyed the process and it has been a great way of raising money for such a good cause – The Wallich does so much good work in south Wales for the homeless.”

Dawsons has already raised £1,300 for The Wallich, which is its chosen charity of 2016 as part of the estate agency’s 25th anniversary.

“It’s congratulations to Dawsons for winning and helping to set a new record in the total amount we raised,” said Zoe Westerman, corporate strategic relationships manager for The Wallich.

“It was so nice to see the whole Dawsons team really getting behind our charity and supporting us.”

Dawsons was awarded the title of Wales Lettings Agency of the Year at The Lettings Agency of the Year Awards 2016 in association with The Sunday Times and The Times, and sponsored by ZPG.

On Friday 10th June, hundreds of leading letting agents from across the UK attended a glittering ceremony at The Lancaster London Hotel where the winners of the most highly regarded awards in the lettings industry were revealed. The winners were presented with their awards by rugby and Olympic leadership legend Sir Clive Woodward, with renowned journalist, author and newsreader Penny Smith acting as compere.

Award winners were selected following a rigorous and thorough judging process overseen by a panel of 20 industry experts who assessed initial entry submissions before conducting an extensive review of the entrants, including over 150 hours of telephone interviews and independent mystery shopping exercises.

Dawsons, winners of the Wales Lettings Agency of the Year, was delighted to receive the award.

“Winning this year is a fantastic achievement, and something that we have worked towards for the past 12 months. Receiving gold in 2015 represented many, many months of effort and continued progression, but to retain such an accolade for a second year really is a special achievement,” said Ricky Purdy, Director of Residential Lettings at Dawsons.

The judging process was managed by Property Ombudsman Katrine Sporle, whilst Mark Hayward of the NAEA acted as Arbiter. The winners were competing for property management and overall awards by business size and/or region, and accolades were also awarded across a number of specialist categories, from marketing to relocation.

Now in their seventh year as a dedicated competition for the lettings industry, these awards have become widely recognised as the most prestigious and difficult to win. With more entrants than ever before, thousands of British lettings and property management offices were represented this year, but only the very best of the best were crowned winners.

Ricky added, “This award represents every staff member and all departments working as a whole, with our landlords and tenants being at the forefront and our key motivation. We have a great mix of experience, knowledge and enthusiasm, which I know will carry on the momentum of such achievements long into the future.”

The regional awards were sponsored by ZPG whilst the specialist categories were sponsored and supported by some of the industry’s leading suppliers including Boomerang, Brief Your Market and Samsung.

Leading South Wales estate agent picks up prestigious national award

Dawsons has been presented with the Gold Rateragent “Agent of the Year Award” in the Swansea category for 2015.

Their marina branch Swansea Marina took the gold award for Swansea. Not only that but the Swansea Sales office also lifted the Silver Award and the Swansea Lettings office walked away with the Bronze award.

Based on reviews from clients compared across Rateragent’s website, combined with ratings from elsewhere across the UK, the awards recognise quality of service.

“These accolades reaffirm the high standards we strive to achieve each working day,” said Ricky Purdy, Dawsons Director of Lettings.

“It is great to see that our clients are receiving and benefiting from the service we provide throughout our branches.

“What is also nice to see is that these customers are taking time out of their busy lives to acknowledge the individual and group efforts our staff make.

“Our staff who work so hard to achieve such high standards will ensure that every effort is made to continue the good work.”

The award comes on the back of two staff at Mumbles lettings office being awarded Rateragent agent of the week for outstanding customer service.

Mal McCallion, Rateragent’s CEO, said: “Dawsons Marina Branch has beaten off dozens of local competitors to win this gold award.

“It’s based upon hand-checked reviews on Rateragent, a site devoted to providing those researching the right agent to sell or let their home with comprehensive information about the best agent for them.

“Knowing that Dawsons has not only engaged with such a transparent and trustworthy site – but also that they have won the Gold award based upon their reviews on it – tells you all you need to know about their approach to their service.

“Dawsons has delighted clients, ones happy to publicly praise the service that they’ve been provided with this year. At the very least this should encourage anyone looking to move in the area in 2016 to consider Dawsons as their agent in the process.”
